What Are You Reading?

I love books! No surprise there, right? Actually, I can’t think of a single author I know that doesn’t love books. Why else would we want to write them?

Growing up, I always had my nose in a book. And most of the time while I read, I was thinking of how I would have changed the story, added to it, removed something…. So, I was kind of trying to rewrite what I read. It was a small jump to writing my own books.

But as much as I enjoy writing, I also love reading what other authors have written. Isn’t it wonderful to loose yourself in a fantasy world? Or have your pants scared off by a thriller?

Books on my Kindle that I am looking forward to starting very soon are Vanished by Sophie Jordan, Deadly Cool by Gemma Haliday, and The Mephisto Covenant: The Redemption of Ajax by Trinity Faegan. I can’t wait!

So tell me, what are you reading? (My books don’t count, but I thank you!) What sort of books are your favorites? Paranormals? Fantasies? Historicals? Suspenses? I’d love to hear from you!

  3. Just finished A beautiful dark by Jocelyn Davies and loved, loved, loved it…dirty blood by heather hildenbrand…re-reading the my blood approves series by Amanda Hocking, and am getting ready to read fateful by claudia gray among so many others…

  4. Currently I am in the process of reading Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward, DreamFever by Karen Marie Moning, Silver Master by Jayne Castle and I just finished No Mercy by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Murder by Mocha by Cleo Coyle and One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost.

I would love to have you visit my page @ http://www.judgenotbythecovers.blogspot.com.

  7. I’m currently re-reading Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill as Drink Deep should be arriving soon. I’ve pre-ordered it on Amazon, along with Awake at Dawn and according to Amazon, both the new releases will be arriving around the same time – YAY! I’ve just recently finished Hunting Lila which i thought was AMAZING! What Books are my favourite? – It’s a toss up between Urban Fantasy and Young Adult but UF probably wins!

Check me out on GR! – http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4812069-tasnim

    Tasnim 🙂 x

  8. I am currently re-reading the Mortal Intruments books by Cassandra Clare. Next on my list is the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater, Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick, I want to re-read Blood Red Road by Moira Young, and am currently awaiting the sequel to Hollowland by Amanda Hocking.
I like all types of books, but I am currently enjoying reading all YA fiction stories, but I also like prohibition-era biographies, some new age books, and classic literature.

  9. Yeah I Love those books from the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, and The Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. The Hunger Games by Suzanna Collins. I Like all types of books. Even Beautiful Creature series by Kami Garcia, and Margaret Stohl. The books series Nightshade by Andrea Cremer, and The Fallen Series by Lauren Kate. I could keep going naming authors and books, but there is too many to count. I Like to reread books all the time. C.C. your books are awesome too. I love to read books. I could not image my Life without books. Books I think shape who you are and I’ve learned a lot from reading books not just the amazing stories your hear but reading and writing to its good practice. Books take my stress away and let me escape to another world. I like to write and guess what will happen in the next book or what I would like to happen. Counting the day for Taken At Dusk to come out. Let the count down begin.

  10. Well Currently I am reading Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa I absolutely love the Iron Fey series! I Hope to read Destined by P.C and Kristin Cast very soon. I also am looking forward to reading the rest of the Sweep series by Cate Teirnan(currently finished book 4) I also want to read The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan. I am working on re-reading the entire House Of Night series By P.C and Kristin Cast before I read Destined. There are too many books and not enough time!!! lol

  11. I’m currently reading Angel Town by Lilith Saintcrow, the last in the Jill Kismet series! Pretty interesting so far! Lilith’s worlds always seem futuristic almost, yet they’re never overly complicated to understand! I like em!

  12. I am reading Maya Banks, Never Love a Highlander, awesome read. I love historical, suspense, comedy, and contempory. I do read a few paranormals but they are not my favorite read.

  13. I am currently reading Reckoning by Lili St. Crow and then am planning on reading The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa. After that I am going to read some classics like East of Eden by John Steinbeck, who is one of my favorites and then Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

  14. I just finished reading “Wolfsbane” By Andrea Cremer, its the sequal to “Nightshade” and both books ended with a cliff hanger! Cant wait till the next one comes out! I reocmend them CC I think you’d enjoy the series :D, But my favorite books are (aside from Harry Potter) Your series, The Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick, The ‘Life as we knew it’ Series, And The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. :]

  15. I am reading Lili St. Crow’s Strange Angels and really, really enjoying it! I picked it up at the library last week and was feeling kind of iffy about it…but I think I’m going to end up blowing through the rest of the series by the end of the week! I also picked up The Bronze Horseman but Paulina Simmons(sp?). One of my favorite books is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and The Bronze Horseman was recommended by Goodreads because of it. Oh, and then there is this pesky little manuscript I am trying to finish up for my creative writing college class!

  16. I finished Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick two weeks ago, your book Awake at Dawn, last week I read The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks, and this week I started Tatalize by Cynthia Smith. I love to read too.

    • You finished Silence? You must be in another country. They’ve only just barely released the cover here in the U.S. How was it? Was it awesome?

  17. I just finished re-reading the Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent and The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter, finished reading the Prophecy of the Sisters series by Michelle Zink, reading Awake at Dawn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephan Chbosky, and The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. Up Next I’m going to read Heist Society and Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter, The Vampire Diaries volumes 5-9 by L.J. Smith, Matched by Ally Condie, A Company of Swans by Eva Ibbotson, and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

  18. I just finished Passion, of the Fallen series, written by Lauren Kate, which was really good! And I’m starting the second book of The Body Finder (dont judge by the tittle:)), by Kimberly Derting. And I’m going to start Wolfsbane, by Andrea Cremer! Im sooo excited!

  19. Oh, man! I am SO glad I’m not the only person who falls in love with a book and just has to rewrite it in my own version – how I would have done it, what I would’ve put in or removed out. I feel like such a dork doing this with all the books I read but it’s fun.
Heh. The books I’m reading? There are too many to count, my friend. I’ve got bookshelves full of books. Poetry, fiction, non-fiction, historical, thrillers, suspense, murder-mystery, teen, romance, you name it.
I just read all the posts and got super excited to see how many people like the same books I do. The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting, the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, the Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow, the Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick, Nicholas Sparks, the Fallen series by Lauren Kate, etc. I also like Cynthia Hand’s Unearthly trilogy and the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and – most humiliating – the Phantom Stallion Series by Terri Farley and the Heartland series.
I have a whole list of books I’m dying to get and I’ve already added up the price it’s gonna cost me —- $261.67!!!!!! SOOOO much money! On top of that I’m saving up for the movie series of Heartland. Ugh!
I also like Dickens, Tolstoy, Camus, Julie Garwood, Madeline Baker, Nora Roberts… I could go on and on.
I highly reccomend Julie Garwood, though. That woman is legendary. If you haven’t read it already, y’all, I kid you not – the Buchanan series and In It For The Roses. You young ladies will fall in love with Cole Clayborne and Noah Clayborne. Noah is a descendent of Cole – whom was in the western days with sister, Mary Rose Clayborne, and three other brothers, Douglas and Travis and Adam – and he IS AWESOME! It’s a little… risque in the steamy scenes since it’s for adults, I believe, but you’ll love it. Especially her books back in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Wow, okay. I gotta stop writing or I’ll go on forever about books and authors. I am such a bookworm.

  20. I love paranormal, romance, and comedy and a little history as well. All together in one (Paranormal, romance, comedy)is great. I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks of changing something or adding something in while I’m reading a good book. I’m debating with myself if I should reread the Twight series or not. But right now I’m reading Stay with Me by Garret Freymann-Weyr. I’m about half way through and at first I thought I wouldn’t like it but I really do. The characters are made up really well and it feels like I’m Leila(The main Character). One of my Favorites are Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. It has romance with history and tradedy. If you want a book that tuggs at your heart and is based off of a true event this is the one.
