Special Blog!

FlowersI have a special blog for you today and some exciting news. But first, do you guys know what next Sunday is?  Mother’s Day.  If you guys have read the entire Shadow Falls Series you have experienced the ups and downs in the relationship of Kylie and her mom.  Do you remember how in the beginning she called her mom “The Ice Queen?” Through the course of the novels, Kylie discovered some things about her mom that I think we can all learn from.

She realized her mom wasn’t all bad.  No, she wasn’t perfect.  She’d made a lot of mistakes throughout her life, but after discovering a few things about her mom’s past, Kylie understood why her mom is the way she is.  Kylie accepted that everyone makes mistakes, and that everyone has flaws—even parents.   She also learned that when you love someone, you accept them and love them in spite of their imperfections.  So I hope on Sunday, you’ll take a minute like I know Kylie would, to tell your mom you love her.

Yes, the relationship between mothers and daughters can be trying at times.  Sometimes moms will want to make sure their daughters don’t make the same mistakes they did, so they try too hard to push them to be something they aren’t.  Sometimes, we try too hard to be what our moms want us to be.  Sometimes we rebel just because we don’t want someone trying live our lives for us.  But the thing we need to remember is that most of these difficulties stem from love.  So be patient, see past the issues to the love that exists in almost all mother/daughter relationships.

Chosen at Nightfall (1)Now for all my exciting news.  First, thanks to all you readers, the Shadow Falls series hit number three on the New York Times best-seller list.  It also hit number twenty-five on the USA Today list. And I’m serious, this happened because of you.  So thank you!

Another bit of good news?  The audio book for Chosen at Nightfall is now available. Chosen at Nightfall was released on April 23, so many of you already have it. However, some people prefer audio books over prints.  I can see how an audio book is great to listen to if you are walking, working out, going for a long car ride, etc. So for you audio book people out there,   you can now listen to Chosen at Nightfall no matter what you are doing. It is available at Audible and at iTunes.

You can hear a clip of it here: Chosen at Nightfall

Now, for my third announcement, I have a lot of giveaways on my blog, and I usually limit them to residents of the U.S. I know I have a lot of very loyal readers who live in many different countries, and I haven’t forgotten you! This week, I’m having a giveaway for my fans who don’t live in the U.S. I’m giving away five copies of Chosen at Nightfall, with a Shadow Falls T-shirts to my international fans.  Here’s what you have to do. Since Mother’s Day is right around the corner in the U.S., tell me something special about your mom, and tell me what country you are from.  Next Tuesday I will post five winners from outside the U.S.

I will also be giving away three t-shirts to my U.S. fans, so you guys need to post comments, too.

Thanks again guys for helping me reach my dream, and Happy Mother’s Day, to you and all your moms.

  1. I love my mother unconditionally, she was a single mother of three and always worked so hard to provide for me and my siblings. She has always been there for me whenever I need her regardless of what she is doing. She is not only my mom, but my best friend. I am so blessed to have the mom that I do.

  2. Hey there! I’m from Singapore and I just want to say that Shadow Falls is an amazing series, can’t wait to read Chosen at Nightfall! Anyway, my mum has always been understanding and inspiring to me, she’s always there when I need her. She’s my emotional support and I don’t know what I would be without her. She gave me my life, taught me how to differentiate from right and wrong, shared with me her experiences and taught me about life, about people, about God. I think what’s special about my mum is that she always puts my brothers and I before anything else, for example, she likes to buy us things to make us happy, but she doesn’t buy anything else for herself. Even though we have our arguments sometimes, and I always make her angry, I think my mum is the best mother I could ever ask for. I love her to bits and just wanted to say, Happy Mother’s Day Mum! 🙂

  3. Yayayayayayayay!!!
One for us international readers – we should have a special connection REALLY…..
What do I love about my mom? Probably the way that she can be a mom and my friend at the same time. She’s got her problems – don’t tell, but I called her the ice queen once – but I love her all the same. And then I think…how many times has she wanted to call ME the ice princess??
    Well yeah I live in
    CHINA.
I have for almost 9 years (since kindergarden!)
    LOVE YOU MOM!

  4. My mom died 8 years ago. The last memory I have is of her sneezing. She always sneezed so funny and I used to make fun of it a lot. She had a heart attack when she was in the hospital for something totally innocent. When we came to visit she started sneezing. After our visit she had a major hear attack again and was brought to the ICU but I didn’t want to visit anymore ’cause I didn’t want to see her with tubes coming out of everywhere. I wanted my last memory of her to be the sneezing one. Sometimes I regret not visiting her in the ICU but I love the last memory I have of her and I’ll treasure it forever. The day she died I lost one of my best friends and not one day goes by that I don’t miss her. So my message to everyone: love your mom with all your heart even when she gets under your skin ’cause the bad moments are stil better than no moments.

  5. My mom…hm.
She’s amazing. I don’t really tell her how much i love her as often as I should. And even though we fight a lot, whether it’s about cleaning my room, or doing my homework, I know she still loves me and my siblings. She’s the most caring person in her own special way 🙂 My mom is one of the best people in this world, along with my dad. They always try to make me feel better and my mom always knows what’s best for me. She chastises and nags a lot, but I know it’s for me. Thank you for reminding me it’s Mother’s Day, cause I always forget every year. At least once, I can finally make her happy and proud!

  6. My mom is one of the most wonderfull people in the world, and I guess I sound like everybody else, but its true, though.
I was born 3 months to early, and I had a 50% chacne to survive – and if I did there was a big chance that I would be a bit wierd in my head.
Later my mom told me this, and I still remember it, that she was ready to care for me, even I should sit in a wheelchair. I allways get this wired feeling when she tells me about it, and I think the feeling is called love. It just mean so much to me, because how I understand, her childhood wasn’t the best. But she really cares for me and my brother. I can’t love her more for that.
And lucky I am fine today… I don’t sit it any wheelchair I’m not wired in my head… and my mom still cares for me, although I don´t sit in a wheelchair..
And I´m so happy to live in Copenhagen, Denmark, with my lovely family.

  7. A special thing about my mum? Hm, it’s difficult to say only ONE special thing because my mom is completely special! I can tell her every thing and I know she always will help me, she does so much for me, my sister and my brother! And I really am amazed how strong she is. My brother often does some cruel things or say unfriendly stuff to her, but she never gives up and believes in the good! I really love my mom! By the way: here in Germany is Mother’s Day too, but neither my mom or I like it, because we think that a daughter or a son should be everyday friendly to her or his mum, it shouldn’t be an exception!

Yup… And I’m from Germany and would be the happiest person ever if I win ;3
    Love you!
    Zilly

  8. I live in Germany and away from my hometown because I study.
My Mom has the habit to call me when I am not at home so she can leave a message on the answering machine. She always wishes me a nice day and a lot of fun with my friends.
She is just the most caring person I have ever met and seems to somehow “smell” my displeasure about something all the 300 km 😀
As everyone would say … My Mom is the most caring and loving person in my live (beside my boyfriend … but no one can be better than my Mom 🙂 ) and I am proud to be her daughter!

All the best from Greifswald, Germany,

    Sina

  9. My mum…where do I begin?She’s funny,supportive,sweet (she makes incredibly delicious sweets,maybe that’s why).I’m kidding! 🙂
She’s my best friend. She can read me better than anyone else. She’s also my number one fan!I’ve made mistakes in my life and I’ll keep making more. That’s life! But instead of being criticized by her, she’s always there for me to tell me that everything is going to be alright or that you don’t know what happens next. And I truly, madly, deeply love her for that! Thanks mum! 🙂
And thank you Christie for this amazing series and this fantastic giveaway!
    Greetings from Greece! 🙂

  10. I love my mom becouse she understands me and supports me when I’m falling down. I love her because she caches my tears when I have a break down and she tells me that everything will be alright. When I see her big green eyes I just cry becouse I think that I have the most wounderful person in the world in front of me and I don’t want to loose her no metter what. I love her because she is my mother, and I will love her until my last breath on this earth! Thank you for this amazing contest:)!

  11. What do I love about my mom?
Mhh.. there is so much! For me, is my mom one of the most wonderful people of the world. I can’t really tell her, how much I love her.
For a long time my mother is sick and she is often in the hospital. Nevertheless, she is always there for me and I thank her for a lot of things.
Ok. Sometime we argue about things like cleaning my room or put away my stuff.
She always kno what ist the best for me and supported me in every situation.
My mom only sees the positive in me and encouraged to pursue new challanges.
For me she is my mom and a goof friend in one person because she always listens to me. And I don’t care what I have I can go to her.
For each his mom is some special and unique. This is my mother for me too. I wouldn’t want to give up them or miss for anything in the world.
Thank you for reminding me it’s Mother’s Day, cause I always forget every year. And I’m so sorry for that! I love her to bits and just wanted to say, Happy Mother’s Day Mum! I love you so much Mum and I know, she’s always there when I need her. Thank you for all what you do Mummy! :* <3

    Laura-Katharina from Germany 🙂
Thank you CC Hunter for Shadow Falls Camp! For me, the book are the best ever! They are my favorite books 🙂 :*

PS: My dad and my grandfather have argued because of my name. One (my dad) wanted to Laura, the other (my grandfather) Katharina. So my mom gave me the double name, and I thank her for that, because I love him!

  12. Regarding your special international giveaway, I’d love to join, I don’t know where to leave a comment or whatever, this seems strategic, so.. yeah. haha. I’m from Malaysia, by the way. My mom, like all moms are understanding, and she makes the best food ever. She understands me a lot. 🙂 She helps me through some tough times in my life, ever since I was young, up till now, she’s always been by my side, and helped me in everything. She has encouraged me in her funny ways whenever I have any exams or competitions. She gives me strength to pull through. Because of her, I don’t dare to cut myself when things get rough. I suffered from pressure and depression and such shits. *Sorry bout the language* All I can say is, I love my mom. To people, there might not be anything special about her, and you might have read many other interesting stuff about other people’s moms, but I love her the way she is, and because she is who she is. And, I’m sorry I couldn’t exactly say which part of her I like most, because I can’t pick. I love every part of her. She is my mom, after all. 🙂 Either way, I don’t care what happens, I just am happy that you could know how my beautiful mom is. 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day!

  13. When my mom was pregnant and discovered it
was a baby girl, she told my father, he didnt look at her for a week, after this he travelled and left her alone, it was her brother in law that looked after her when my father was out.
I was born with my heart in the right side of my cheast, instead of the left. My mom could go out the hospital but i couldn’t, and my father wanted my mom to leave me at the hospital but she didn’t, she spoke with the doctor and promissed to take exams when they required, so the doctor let me out with her.
She works with my father as a kind of a secretary, when she needed to pick something for him, she used to put me in the car and feed me while she was driving, that was not very responsable but i find it lovely.
She always looks after me and always keeps me going no matter what crazy stuff I’m doing. When my father said i was not going to succeed, she gave me the support i needed. I’m everything that I am today, just because of her, that never gave up on me and I’m so gratefull. about that.
    I’m from Brasil

  14. Yay! Thank you so much for the international giveaway! You are right about having fans overseas because I’m one!

My Mum never seem to age and that’s pretty amazing because she doesn’t pile on those skincare products or apply makeup. She doesn’t get a lot of beauty sleep either being busy with housework, waking up extremely early to prepare breakfasts etc. (♡˙︶˙♡)

I secretly wonder if she is a vampire. She gets mistaken for my older sister sometimes. Maybe it has something to do with the month and day she was born on? Well…seeing I was born on her birthday, hopefully I’ll inherit this from her.

    I’m from Singapore!

  15. My is the most loving person ever. She takes care of me and my 3 other sisters and yeah it’s hard work but we can see how much she loves us. She helps us when we’re feeling sad and yes she notices when we’re sad and tries to talk to us. I wouldn’t wish for any other mom, I just love her so much.

Thank you for the great giveaway! I’m from Canada!

  16. Dear C. C,
first of all I would like to tell you that Shadow Falls is the most magnificent series I’ve read in years. I really love your writing style and how you create your characters (they’re all so incredibly complex).
Now to my mom. She really is wonderful (I know, all people will say that but it’s true). She’s always there for me unconditionally, even if it means to get up at 3:30 to take me to a sports competition. She gives me lots space but tells me when there’s something that really needs to be done or that she doesn’t like (like I always get an honest opinion on my clothing style 😀 ). But overall she helped me to get to be who I am today and always told me to give my honest opinion and never hold back any kind of important comment because someone else told me to.
Because of her I’m kinda strong when it comes to what others might say or think about me and I really love her for it.
As for the giveaways, I’m so glad you extended them so that people allover the world can take part. I haven’t read Chosen at Nightfall yet so I hope I’ll win it and we really need some fan stuff like the tee-shirts down here cause those things are very rare where I come from.
    Oh, I’m from Germany BTW.

  17. My mom left this world December 16, 2006 and things haven’t been the same without her. She never wanted us to grieve for her but to enjoy life while celebrating her memory. Mother’s day weekend is always our first camping trip of the year and I always make sure to dedicate a beer to her honor 🙂

  18. I am from the U.S. :)) I want to say that my mom is the best person ever, because she has been there for me every single moment of my life. I love her to death and I am grateful that when I was ill a couple of years ago that she never ever left my side despite how old I am (I’m 21). She always takes care of me and she is honestly my best friend, my doctor, my therapist, my everything. Now that I am almost finished with college, I dream of graduating and dedicating my hard work to her honor. If I could be born again, I would choose her as my mom 100% of the way.

  19. My mother and I don’t get along all of the time, but I have found out recently that when we work as a team on a project that we are passionate about we get along great. Right now we are working on a benefit auction for my nephew and we are trying to get things donated to us, but we are working as a team on this and I have enjoyed the laughs and the sorrows right along with her on this journey of ours. So to my Mother Susie Wilson, I love you now and forever no matter what is ahead of us. Thank you CC for this give away and letting me tell you about me and my mom

  20. What’s special about my mother, wow that’s many things to list. But I will state her fight for life not only hers but mine as well. I have three moments I remember the most, The first is when she had cancer, it was one of the worst things I went through thinking my mother wouldn’t have long to make it or it would come back, that was in 1998 she is cancer free and has been ever since. Another memory was when my son was born, she was in the room with me and cut his cord. The third memory was is 2010, a doctor told me that my kidney’s were failing and their was nothing they could do for me. My mother sat by my bed and stayed calm and didn’t shed a tear in front of me, she gave me the courage that no matter the out come I would be fine. To this day I am fine, the doctor was wrong with his diagnose. My mother will always be my best friend, mother and sister all in one. Me and mother live in the New Mexico.

  21. Me and my mother argue as do all, but she has been a single mother of three for 8 years, we get on each others nerves, but we go out of our way to help each other, she even helped me get a job at her work so that I would have money for school, but rather than that I use my job money to help out around with bills and what not. My mother is very strong willed and I get that from her as well, but when we put our minds together great things will come (like the garden we planted a few weeks ago) I love my mom even though we fight, she is the ont mom I’ll ever have. This is my graduating year of high school, and She is pushing me to do my best <3

    We're from Canada 🙂

  22. I think the best thing about my mom is that she is really undescribable. I feel sorry for every person who hasn’t met her. My mom gives me hope. Hope in humanity and hope in the future because it’s not that we’re rich or anything like that. No, my mom is really gracious and she genuinely cares about everyone, she is just such a good person. She accepts everyone for who they are and treats her children equally. She gives me hope that even if nothing turns out how I plan it to be I can still rely on her and if I am only a quarter as good as she is everything will be okay. I don’t have to earn much money to be happy or to accomplish someting I just have to be a good person and when I finally am then I can change the lives of so many people around me. My mother made me the person I am today and if you ask her she will probably tell you how great I am and everything because she doesn’t want to hurt my feelings or maybe because moms just love their children despite of what their kids think of themselves. My mother holds our family together she doesn’t pressure us or wants us to win awards. She just lets us be and wants us to be happy. She is there for all of us and despite how unbelievable she is I don’t think she even knows it. That is one of the things I admire most about my mother, she is so kind but she doesn’t think that that’s something special and she is right it shouldn’t be but it is because not everyone is as kind-hearted as my mom. I’m not as kind-hearted as my mom but I’m trying. Of course my mother has her faults like everyone else but personally I think she can shine through all her flaws and that’s really remarkable because I haven’t met anyone ever whose flaws are so small and so imperceptible as my moms. I love my mother so much and I tell her every day. My family and I live in Germany.

  23. Wow it’s amazing reading all the posts :). My mother is special because she isn’t just an amazing mother but an amazing person as well and has taught me, my brother and sister to be kind, generous, honest and to never be afraid to be ourselves. She loves us unconditionally and although she has made mistakes like every parent does, she has always always been here for us and I love her. MUMS RULE!

Thank you C.C for this funny and exciting series, I can’t wait to read your next books. much love x

  24. “Mother is the word for god on the hearts and lips of little children”
    -William Makepeace Thackeray

I love this quote so thought I’d share.

  25. My mom is super awesome! She always supports me. I’m lucky to have a mom who understands me and will sometimes let me have ‘sick’ days when my mental health ain’t so hot. 😀

  26. One of the best things about my mom is, that she lets me choose but at the same time wants whats best for me. my mom will buy me anything i want only if that thing isn’t bad of me or it will ruin my ‘right’ path and only if we always have respect and always listen to her and never make her mad at us. whenever there is a decision happening my mom always confronts me and my siblings to see if we like the change or not. my mom won’t ever force me into anything i don’t like. she wants me to build my own life up to map amy own choices and decisions. one thing i love my mom for is that when ever she feels like it or at the randomest times she starts acting like a kid more than a parent. she starts goofing around and laughing non stop and brings up the weirdest things. she usually does those things when we are upset, mad of sick, she does it to make us happy.

i love my mom if she wasn’t here with us i don’t think i would be the person i am now. and if i didn’t have my mom (god forbid) i think i will go crazy because ……i love my mom more than anything in the world.

i think this was a really good topic to talk about.

  27. I love my mom, her flaws and all. She always forgives me when im in a bad mood, wich is pretty often(every monday) She always asks my opinion for hairstyles, food, everything and nothing sometimes things just as simple as, do you want me to style your hair? wich I find is so incredibly sweer and the one person I cant say no to. She shows us that she loves us with every breath she takes and we all do the most we can for her just to show her that we love her as much as she loves us. Plus, she had to take care of me and my brother always fighting about stupid things like who ate the last pizza slice or who did what, she was couragous enough to make us love each other and actually get along when we grew up, and she succeded. For this I want to get her something sweet for mothers day and this book would be great because she cant read ebooks( shes not that good with electronics) so winning her this book and giving her the hole series in books, she would love that and I want to do it for her to show her that I always think about her.

  28. I have just read some amazing comments about people who loves their moms, and also some sad one about people who lost their moms:(
What they say is true, we should enjoy every moment we have with the people we love because we never know if we will see them again.
But let’s face it, I still get mad at my mom, sometime I wished she would change, and I’m sure I’m not the only one; but that’s just how things are, and it doesn’t change the fact that I love her more than anything:)
One thing special about my mom is that she’s a really great cook:) And she’s nice, and she’s beautiful, and she’s just plain amazing! I love her for being my mom and keeping up with my sister and I!♥
    ps: I’m Canadian♥

  29. I just ordered chosen at nightfall! im so excited to get it in two days. I cant wait to read it this series has been addicting! it took me forever to convince my mom to let me order it ! cant wait to have it in my hands. I literally read all the books in 3 days! I never put them down!

  30. I now have the complete series and I couldnt be happier, which also ties in with my mom who understands how important reading is to me and never misses the chance to take me out to get new books. This ones for you mom!

  31. My mom and I have a weird relationship because all she is to me is my mom we don’t talk like we are friends but I love her and I know she loves every single one of my siblings and me. She has shown her devotion to us and will continue to be the best mom ever.
    I live in the U.S.

  32. Something special about my mom is that no matter how upset either of us are, we’re over it in a few hours. She can’t go without talking to me and I can’t go without talking to her. I think because I’m her first daughter and second child we have a bond that is so different from my younger siblings. She got to know me better and she watched me grow into someone I hope she’s proud of. I also love that because of her I won’t give up easily because I’m trying to make her proud and show her that I’m trying hard in life because she couldn’t. She’s the rock that keeps me grounded and down to earth. I love her despite if she thinks I don’t or I get mad at her all the time! <3 ;D

  33. Hello my prefered name is Venus 🙂 I grew up in Switzerland but I live in Canada now. My mom is amazing, she is so strong. She’s the one who wiped my tears and kissed my wounds. She was my Papa Noel , Easter Bunny, and Tooth Fairy. She has done so many things to affect me for the better but the little things add up. On hot days to save me from walking 15 she picks me up with a cold snack and a smile. She didn’t have the best childhood so that’s what she is trying to give my brothers and I. I can’t imagine life without her , she has and will always be my mommy and I her Baby. <3

  34. Love the post!! Hmm something I love about my mom well there is a lot. I usually would never admit that I love my mom although I should because we use to be close but as I got older I grew more distant from my mom bit now I’m realizing how much I need her in my life. Well anyways I’m one of five children and that takes a lot of patience to deal with five kids. I will literally call her after school and be like oh btw come pick me up or I need this or that so I respect her for that. Also she is so caring and always does what’s best for me. my mom is also a pretty awesome cook I mean her food is awesome. Haha but as you can probably tell I love my mom. I’m not saying and is perfect or will win the mother of the year award but she is pretty awesome to me and I’m proud to be like her! <333 happy Mother's Day CC!

    • Oh one thing I forgot to mention that I love about my mom is no matter if I’m mad or angry or we are not speaking she will still always tell me she loves me even if I don’t say it back. I love her for that

  35. My mom is great. Sometimes, she doesn’t see how amazing she is. She doesn’t think she’s perfect because she works full time and can’t be at every little thing for school. She gets up at 4:30 in the morning to work out and she doesn’t get home until about 6:30 at night. She works all day, yet she still finds time to be a wonderful mom and one of my best friends. We are so alike. The only big difference is that she’s older, can drive, and has the money as she so often points out. Most of our fights are play ones, sometimes resulting in minor injuries. I SWEAR I didn’t mean to break her knuckle! SHE WAS TICKLING ME! I just spazzed and she was caught in the fire. My friends love her. She’s the “cool” mom. We like the same music, but I have more of a tolerance for music I don’t like. I wish I could show my mom how spectacular she really is. For some reason, she can’t see it. She and I really only fight once in a blue moon. The last time was over something stupid, but it was late and she wasn’t listening to my side of the story, just my sister’s. After a few hours, we both got over it and went back to our best friend/mother-daughter relationship we have. We share the same favorite TV shows (Big Bang Theory, NCIS, NCIS: LA). I don’t know what I’d do without my mom. She’s such a huge part of my life. She’s amazing and beautiful, even if she doesn’t always see it. We’re from the USA.

  36. When my mom was pregnant and discovered it
was a baby girl, she told my father, he didnt look at her for a week, after this he travelled and left her alone, it was her brother in law that looked after her when my father was out.
I was born with my heart in the right side of my cheast, instead of the left.
I’m everything that I am today, just because of her, that never gave up on me and I’m so gratefull about that.
    I’m from Brasil

  37. My mom, for me is the most important women in all the universe, she is the one that always take care of me, always stand up for me no matter what. Even when sometimes i blame her for the wrong things that happens to me, or when i get angry with her because i can’t do something i really want to do, she is there for me trying to make everything better and trying to find the way i can do what i want, even though i don’t deserve to be treated that way because after all is not her fault. she works hard for me, to gave me everything i really need, sometimes it is hard for her to pay for my education but she made it happen, she looks for the way to pay it because she knows that for me is important. She is such a good women that when my mom and dad have another fight and i get really angry with my dad, she tells me not to be like that because is just a fight of the two of them, tells me that my dad loves me and i shouldn’t let that fight change the way i talk or be with him. I love my mom and i know she loves me because in any way she has the opportunity to tell me she loves me she do it, even in the most unfortunate or awkward moments, but i appreciate that anyhow. My mom is like me, we like to laugh about everything and we do have fun when we are with each other or with all my family. I love her, I wouldn’t change the way she is and for me she is the most Important person in the whole world. I’m from central america,Honduras. and btw this series is one of my favorite, i really like your books and chosen at nightfall was my favorite of all the series.

  38. weeee~ Im from the US but I’ll answer anyways~ (:

    My mum.
Um, wow. I really don’t know what to say. I dont live with her and she lives with a family of her own. But I dont mind. She visits sometimes and im glad that she still stays in touch with me and younger sister. The one thing that I love about my mum is that like everyone, she’s not perfect at all. She dropped out of school young, ran away once, and made mistakes. She married and divorced at lot, something I really frown upon, something even my dad regret marrying her. And sometimes its hard for me to agree with my dad without feeling disloyal to my mummy. But she still tries, and I still love her, always. She’s starting school again, going after her medical degree, and she inspires me to become a nurse as well, helping children and the elderly and all. Deep inside, my mummy has a good heart, and for me, thats all thats matter. I couldnt ask for a better mum.(:

  39. I love Cc Hunter! My mom i special ( I know this is going to sound mushy) because she always looks to the positive side of things. If we are in a bad or confusing situation she is the problem solver and motivater we need to get out of it. My mom is strong and she almost never cries… I guess shes just that confident that things are going to work out in our favor.

  40. Me and my moms relationship is strained at times, as we fight for the stupidest reasons. But she has been a single mother raising 3 kids for 8 years. When we work together for something we really want it works wonders, and she supports almost all of my ideas. This being my last year of school she even helped me get a job at her work to help with paying for school, but instead I help out with bills and what not. Our relationship is a tight bond, not just by blood, but by love and trust.

    We are from Canada 🙂

  41. Oh I love your books so much and it sucks as Chosen at nightfall still hasn’t come out where I live, In New Zealand 🙂

My mum is amazing, she is my best friend but I also have always looked up to her, she moved away from her family at 19 to see where life takes her and moved where she had no one, I have not been the best daughter all the time and went through a very hard time personally having suffered from depression, she was so amazing through that time helping me find a better purpose and now I’m graduating university this year!!
My mum is amazing and always looks after us no matter what, me and my brother and sister and really going to treat her this mothers day 🙂
I love my mum, forever and always and I could not ask for a better mum

Thank you for giving a chance for international people to enter we all love you around the world and it means a lot 🙂 Your books are amazing and help me alot
Who say’s YA books are just for younger people haha
    🙂

  42. U.S.

My mom is a strong woman who always helps others. She has a big heart that she sharea with almost everyone. <3

  43. First, I want to say congratulations on your book doing so well.

Next, I live in the US

Finally, something special about my mom. When we were younger (four sisters, me, mom), Mom set up a fake tea party – adult style. Complete with cookies, and ‘fine’ china, and kool-aid in wine glasses. We all dressed up in previously worn prom dresses and did our hair. That bit of free spirited fun is what I love most about my mom.

  44. Your books are amazing that I can’t wait to get my hands on the fifth book not to mention I live in Malaysia.

Well my mom is like most mom does a caring and lovely mom. But one thing about my mom that amazes me and I’m proud of calling her my mom is that, she is a person that doesn’t give up easily and always finds a better solution when facing life difficulties. My mom always work hard to earn money for my family, well thats because my dad is a jackass and only knows how to gamble. So you could say that my family is on the line of bankrupt. Even though our life is like that,my mom always says this : “No matter what life we are facing always smile and look at the brighter sights. And find a way to face it and don’t run from it, cause running away is like admitting your a loser in life and always a loser.”

Well thats all I have to say about my mom.
Mom your the best mom in the world, I love you mom. Happy Mother’s Day. Your the guardian angel of our little family.

  45. Thank you for your books! They are amazing 🙂 And thank you for this special international giveaway!

Everything about my mom is special. She is strong despite all the stuff life and fate have thrown into her way (like an abusive husband or several life-threatening surgeries). She still has her optimism and believes in the good things. She had her both ovaries removed with only a few cells left for a chance to have a baby. And she used the chance and had me. And I am thankful to her for that.
She is a very good-natured person, communicative and it is amazing that people simply tend to drift towards her. My friends love her and even visit her while I am not at home (I am from Belarus but I’ ve been living in Germany for the last 8 years). We can talk about everything for hours.
When I think about my mom and the things that I remember the most, those are her hands. I remember their softness and how tender my mom used to touch me and still does when we meet once in a year.
My mom taught me lots of things: to believe in myself, to never give up and to chose my friends wisely. She is always there for me and I love her very much.

That is nice to tell people about my mom. 🙂

    All the best from Germany

  46. My mom is such an amazing person i love dearly. I miss having her around sense i don’t see quite often. Something special about my mom wad she went through bad relationships and was a strong soldier and made it out with her three daughters and I love my mother very much for putting up with my father. I live in the u.s. And love your books! I really am glad to have come across your books! Happy mothers day everyone! 🙂

  47. Finally international giveaway! Thank you C.C.!

I come from Britain, so we already had mothers day. I went to my mum’s, and slept over. We were watching our fav movies together and eating Ben and Jerry ice-cream. Then in the morning i got up early and made my mums fav breakfast – bacon, eggs, and ham sandwiches, in the process i think we gained about 10 kg. 😉

Whats special about my mum? Well, she is the most patient human being i have ever met, i mean, c’mon, she raised me! She is a great cook too. And she is a really good friend. She loves to go out. She can never just sit in place and relax.

  48. Hey 🙂
I’m from Germany and by the way a great fan of the Shadow Falls Book Series. And I really love you for giving us international fans outside the U.S. the chance of winning a wonderful giveaway!

But now back to my mum. I really love her and I’m very grateful to have her around, we share a very close relationship and I don’t know what I would do without her. She is such an amazing person and she always understands me. That’s what I most love about her, she seems to understands me when the whole world doesn’t. She’s always there for me and gives me always helpful advice. She’d helped me many times and she’s the first I go to when I have a problem or feel the urge to speak about something. I feel like I can tell her everything, no matter how stupid it sounds. I can even tell her things I can’t tell my best Friend and I know I don’t have to be afraid of her reaction to whatever it is. I know for sure, that I couldn’t do anything she wouldn’t forgive me. Even when we’re fighting I always know we will always get along. I have the feeling like I would never loose her, like she would never leave me alone or just walk away. And I really think that everyone needs someone they can rely on no matter what happened. Someone who is permanent, someone who stays, when the whole world walks out, someone who will always love you no matter what horrible things you do or say. I have the luck to have already found that person, my Mum. <3 Sometimes when I feel like I'm a bad person because I've done bad things in the past, I'd like to forget she makes me feel special and not bad or anything at all. She's so full of light and I really look up to her because she's everything I'd like to be. I want to grow into a wonderful mum and woman like her. In the past she also had done things that weren't right and she still made it, she overcome the bad memories of the past and grew into the person she's now. If she made it I'm sure I will make it to. She gives me a reason to try again, to grow into a better person and I love her for that. By know I'm a little bit crying, but that are tears of love. I couldn't imagine my life without her. And that's the special thing about her.

I'll make mothers day her special day, where I thank her for everything she did for me. I can't even thank her enough but I'm trying my best to make her happy. And even two days after mothers day is her birthday, so I'll have the chance to make her a wonderful, unforgettable birthday as well. She really deserves it.

  49. My mother is amazing, I love her and I always will. She has taught me many things and helped me find my faith again. She is the person i go to for evwrything and if i could give her anything for mother’s day, i would. I am from the US.

  50. My mom is special because in spite of my troubled family life with my father she’s taught me to be strong, look for the good in others, forgive their mistakes and helps me be a better person and reach out to them despite our differences. She’s taught me to be a good person and has led by example even when I know it’s difficult for her. She’s provided me and my brothers with a loving family and taught us morals to take into our adult lives, she’s so kind and wonderful and is a loving mother and grandmother. Even when we disagree she’s always my strongest advocate and if I could become half the mother she is I know I’d do ok. I really like this giveaway I think it’s an amazing chance to talk about our often unsung heroes 🙂 and I’m from the U.S.

  52. Something special about my mom is she is always there for me, regardless of the choices I make. She does all these little things like surprising me at work with coffee, helping me through tough decisions, and planning all these fun adventures for us to go on. Without her, I don’t know what I would do. I’m from New Brunswick, Canada.

  53. Hi Mrs. Hunter! im sorry i havent commented lately. ive been really busy with school.. but i still had time to buy Chosen at Nightfall! i just wanted to let you know how much your books have done for me, so im going to try and sum up how i feel and the situation. I really hope you read this so that you know how important you and your series are to me. During the beginning of the series, i lived with my mom, for the first two books. (Because my parents are divorced) and over the summer, my mom left the country. but she never came back.. which practically killed me inside, because she lied to me and a lot of other drama that i dont think i need to specify. so i had to move into my dad’s house, which is a little two bedroom house that now has 5-6 people living in it, depending on my brother. i love my dad. but its not the same, and i miss my mom, i had barely ever been away from her for more than a couple weeks.. and now this. i cant even describe how sad i was. and sometimes still am. i think about it everyday and sometimes cry myself to sleep. But the point was that now that im a my dads house, ive still been reading your series. and your series was about the only thing that remained constant in my life. It became a major part of me. Every time i finished a book, i died a little because i knew i had to wait for the next one. I felt like i was Kylie, or more like she was there for me when i had my problems. i cant describe how happy i was when i could escape my life and go into hers, like i still had my mom, and i was home. It helped me so much. Thank you. So so much. <3 But i also wanted to say that now that Kylie's journey is over, i feel like my life is over too.. i literally feel empty inside knowing that there is no more of her to go on with me. its like someone important in my life left me again. i cried in the shower when i finished the book because i felt to sad. and now when i think about it, i dont know what to feel. I still have that shirt you sent me, though. im too afraid to wear it because i dont want to wash it and risk washing your signature away. i hope i dont sound crazy.. haha, but i still want to thank you for EVERYTHING even though the series is over. So thank you CC, and i really hope you read this.. Thank you! You are the reason i still smile. Love, Margaret (P.S. i commented this on the last blog, but i wanted to make sure you saw it. im sorry if i seem pushy.. and i thought that it fit with the whole mom situation)

  54. I can’t WAIT until July! My Mom said if I’m good, and only IF, then she will drive me the 3 hour trip to Atlanta so I can hear you speak at the Atlanta Mariot Marquis at the Romance Authors of America! I have this acting summer thing I go to that doesn’t end until 3, so were gonna be speeding trying to get there but anyway I’m so excited and I REALY hope i get to come! Just out of curiosity, who else will be there? Any other authors, like Allison Noel? I love her Riley Bloom series as well as Shadow Falls, (though Shadow Falls is better to me, right up at number 1, tying with Harry Potter.) Well I’m going to stop talking now, but I won’t stop talking in Atlanta when i hopefully MEET you! Can’t wait!

  55. Hi, I’m commenting to tell you how much I love your books you are such an amazing author and I love how interactive you are with your fans. now this weeks challenge is to explain something special I have with my mom. well my mom and I never really got along until about 2 years ago when my brother was having drug problems. it is sad that my brother had to struggle but it really gave us some common ground to work together and fix our relationship. since then by brother ha gotten clean and my mother and I have started actually talking again we live with my grandmother in New Jersey. she is old and last year decided she needed help so my mom brother and I all moved in to help take care of her te whole thing brought us do much closer and I now feel like I could talk to my mom about anything which I found filled a very large hole I didn’t know was empty. reconnecting with my mom was one of the best things that’s happened to me and I really appreciate that you cared rani ugh to make a Mother’s Day blog post. I love your books and I love how widespread they are becoming because you are so sweet and kind (you can see it in your writing and your blogging)and you really deserve to do well
    with all the love

  56. Hey! I’m Agatha from Singapore.

For me, I feel that something special about my mum is that she has this way of just influencing others with her words and actions. She’s an English geek -and I don’t think I would be one if she hadn’t shared her love for books with me when I was younger. Every time I read something new I have someone to share it with and that’s one of the things I love the most about my mum.

  57. U.S.
My mom is special to me because if I ever doubt myself or say I can’t do it she encourages me to do my best and that even if I fail it doesn’t mean that you won’t do better some other time. She pushes me to do my best and because of her I have done so much I never thought I would do.

Wish me a happy birthday please. May 12th (aka Mother’s Day)

  58. Awesome I was surely hoping that would be her middle name 🙂 wooooooo!!!!! 🙂 so will Miranda and Kylie be in Della’s story? You can’t split up the 3 amigas!?

  59. Something special about my mom? Well it is hard to pick one thing, but I have always loved the way my mom stares at me when I am in trouble. She used to pick me up but with time that has stopped and instead she watches me pick myself up. But the look on her face of helplessness is saddening, knowing that she can help me, she still won’t, jus to watch the triumph on my face when I accomplish something independently is her biggest joy in life. In my eyes, my mother is the veil of a softer light between heartily realism and heavenly fantasy. She is cove, my rock, my safety. Love you mummy!

  60. My mom is my favorite person in the world(sorry dad). Just like in the shadow falls series my mom and I have ups and downs all the time. Maybe not as drastic as Kylie and her mom but definitely some ups and downs happen. In the end I feel like that makes my mom and I stronger. I can go to her for anything! I’m still trying to come up with a gift for Mother’s Day because she deserve something that means a lot to her rather than something expensive!
I love the Shadow Falls series and I’m so sad that it is over but I feel like it ended amazingly!!!! I can’t relate to everyone in that book. I’ll even go as far as to say I relate to Perry! Haha. Can’t wait for more books CC! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

  61. I find that my mom is special because I learned my strength through her. When I was 11 I had a almost deadly accident. The doctor told her after my spleen was removed that if I got sick that I could die. But instead of sheltering me, she led me back into the world and we resumed life as normal. Taking it day after day, then month after month, and then year after year. 20 years later I am a strong independent woman that now has her own family and children to inspire. I would not be who I am with out her.

  62. Hey I love this series can’t get enough of it!! Now about my mom….my mom is the kind of person you can tell anything too. She has always been there though my ups and downs. She is the best of both worlds she is my mother and my best friend all wrapped into one! My mom is the strongest person I know she has been though so much she even beat breast cancer….my mom is my hero and my rock I don’t know what I would do without her!

  63. Hi
I’m from Canada, and I definately had the greatest mom! She stood against Adultery and Abuse. She raised 4 of us alone and loved us unconditionally. She always put us first and went without many times! She broke her back at work ,then was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis that dwindled her down to 46lbs,then had a blood clot in her brain, then a brain tumor behind that. She passed away at 61 yrs of age and at 40 lbs.She was the strongest person I have ever known and will ever know. She wrote the book on perseverance, determination and strength of spirit (which is limitless). Because of her I am second to her in courage and fortitude and have needed to draw on these many times! Without her there would be no me!

  64. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!
(it is for me as I live in china!)
    我爱你妈妈
that means i love you, mom
WHAT do I love about her? Well if I have to limit it to just one thing, I’d probably choose her ability to always be there when I need her.
    🙂

  65. Hey! Just wanted to give a shoutout to my mom. Happy Mothers Day! I love you so much! One thing that I find so special about my mom is that she does so many things to help the environment! She composts, recycles, picks up litter, and even grabs bottles out of the trash cans to put in the recycling bin. She is amazing, and I love her for every single thing that she does. My family isn’t super rich, or wealthy, and my mom does everything she can to make ends meet. Once again, I love you mom. You are so dear to me, and I love you from the moon and back! Happy Mothers Day, mom!
btw, we live in awesome Canada! Whoop Whoop!

  66. What is special about my mother is that she supports me and my brother no matter what happens. After a fight, most times I haven’t done what she wanted me to do or I broke the rules, there is sometimes a time where we don’t speak with each other but a day or two after our fight we speak again. My mum and I have a lot to love, mostly during dinner because someone either my dad, my brother, my mum or I made a funny comment and we can’t stop loving and everytime we look at each other we start all over again. 😀
She is also very strong, so I propably saw her crying three times and two of them were because she was so happy. Today, mother’s day, was one of the times when she cried cause of the present I got her. My mum went threw a lot in the past years, with her job and there was also a big fight with her sisters, but even when she had an burn out she managed it, so that it did not influence the life of me and my brother that much.
I love my mum for all of that and i think, and I now that everybody thinks that, that she is the best mum in the whole world.

I’m from Germany, and I hope you can understand what I mean cause sometimes it sounds a bit confusing when I write in English, especially when I write so much.

Ich hab dich lieb Mama (I love you mum in German)

  67. One great thing about my mom is that she cares for me a lot. There was once when I was eleven, I had this serious eczema flare up and it was so bad that it was practically all over me… My face, arms, legs, you name it. So of course, she brought me to the dermatologist and he prescribed medication. The effect of it isn’t instant so she still had to look after me. To do that, she took work days off. She worked relentlessly to help me with medication and stuff yet she never once complained. She even said this to me, ‘If I could suffer this for you, I would.’ Now I’m much better thanks to her. Thank you, mom.

  68. Can’t wait to read Chosen at Nightfall shame the series has to end! An I’m about to start Saved at Sunrise. Della is awesome!

My mum also loves the series and sometimes it’s hard to pry the books out of her hands; some people just don’t like sharing :). I have to say that I couldn’t choose one thing that I’d love the most about my mum I love her for who she is through the good times, the bad times and the down right crazy times. She’s always there for me when I need a shoulder to cry on. We have a similar taste in fashion, shame we aren’t the same clothe or shoe size! And I know she’d always be there for me; even when I leave the nest in a couple of months as she said to me “me and your dad are just a phone call away and we can get to you anywhere in the world in 24 hours”. If I wrote down everything I love about my mum I’d be here for quite some time and we also like Kylie and her mum have our differences but I just hope when ever she needs me I’ll do for her what’s she’s done for me my entire life and I hope I’ll be just like her when I have children of my own!

So what I’m trying to say is I love you mum don’t ever change! 😀

  69. My mother had me in 1987 when she was only 16 years old. She was kicked out of school for it so she didnt get the chance to finish highschool. She had 3 young kids by the time she was 20. She was living on her own with my controling father, 3 young kids, hardly any neighbors, no telephone, no car, and no DL to drive if she had a car. She raised us all with up standing morals on her own. She got her GED and her A.A. She did it all. She struggled with finances alot but we never really were aware of it. She always made sure that we had what we needed before she considered anything for herself. So the special thing about my mother is that she was a GREAT mother at such a young age. Most 16-20 year olds are all about themselves, as is expected because they are still children and super young adults, but she stepped up and did what was needed and raised some AWESOME kids!

BTW I’m in the US and thanks for the awesome world you created for us to live in for hours on end

  70. My mother is not really my mother. Genetically, though. But we speak as friends. We have 20 years apart. She is a single mother. We have a special relationship. I often say that it is the woman of my life. She does everything she can to my sisters and I have a great life. She is my confidante. And I’m his confidante.
I remember one day when we wanted to eat at fast food KFC. At the time, my mom had not yet her driver’s license, so she and I went there on foot. And of course, we lost. Anxiety but also a lot of laughter.

In France, Mother’s Day is May 26. For the occasion, last year, I gave her flowers, dinner at the restaurant and a massage. Any ideas ?
