Atlanta Pics

As a writer, I spend much of my time in my office working away on my computer, creating characters in their own special worlds. It means spending hours alone with them, and being a talker, I often end up talking to my characters (my family has gotten used to this and no longer talks of committing me). But eventually, I have to say goodbye to them when I finish a book. And as much as I love my characters and carry them in my heart, I do enjoy the opportunity to connect with my real friends. And I have to admit, I have been very fortunate over the years. I have made a lot of wonderful writer friends as well as those connected with writing, like agents, editors, etc. And I can’t forget my loyal Shadow Falls fans, either, the ones who come to see me wherever I am signing.  So, I really looked forward to seeing everyone at the RWA conference in Atlanta last week.  I wasn’t disappointed, I had a great time—even when I was emceeing the awards in front of 2,000 people!  Anyway, I thought I’d share some of my conference photos with you.

Betty Hobbs, who flew all the way to Atlanta to attend my booksigning,  and her sister Jan.  Thank you Betty!

My good buddy and friend, Lori Wilde.  She rocks at writing.  And we both have books out in Jan.  You’ll see us cross promoting!

A Shadow Fall’s fan who came to see me in a storm.  Thank you!  And thank you to her mom who brought her.  You guys are the greatest!

Shana Galen,  Sarah MacLean, and Sophie Jordan share a moment with me.

Me and my wonderful agent, Kim Lionetti.

BookEnd’s, my agency’s, party.  Fun, fun and fried green tomatoes!

Me on at the podium and up on the big screen.  (Yikes!  Can they see my pores?)

Me and writing friend Cathy Crouch.

Lori Wilde, Shawnna Perigo and me.  Dad blast it!  They make me look even shorter!

So, in case you can’t tell, I had a blast in Atlanta. And I’m so glad I said yes when RWA called me to emcee the awards ceremony. Atlanta is a wonderful city filled with friendly people. Have you ever been to Atlanta?

  1. I’m glad you had fun. I have never been to Atlanta, or anywhere near that. I wish I was able to go to your signings, but I am too far away.

  2. I’m happy you had fun!!!And it looks like your fear must have lessened. So does this mean the next Shadow Falls book in Della’s view will come out in Jan???

  3. I actually went to Atlanta this January. I got to hang out at the aquarium for two days because my dad was doing a presentation there. A friend of ours works there and we got an awesome backstage tour of the facility.

  5. I would love to go to Atlanta. But so far I haven’t been able to. Im so happy for you tho, CC! Next time you are close to Dallas inform us, please. I live just east of Dallas!

  6. Your writing is amazing. I enjoyed these books so much. I could see myself and my friends, our thoughts and temperaments in these characters. You weave such beautiful stories and have wonderful insights that would help a younger person mature just by reading. My Best friend, and elementary teacher, turned me on to these and I couldn’t lay not one book down, every book more enticing than the next. You will be famous when these catch on!

  7. The pics are lovely! I would LOVE to meet you personally but unfortunately i don’t live in Texas or anywhere close to America (I’m from England). I’v never been in Atlanta but i want to live there, and soon i will with my best friend! I hope you’ll visit again and hopefully we will finally meet! 🙂
