Looking Back at 2014

What a year it’s been.  Between both my author personas, Christie Craig and C.C. Hunter, I’ve released six books this year.

I’ve traveled all over Texas: Terrel, San Antonio, Dallas, Euless, and Palacios.  I’ve jumped a plane and flown to Wisconsin, Maine, Alabama, Ohio, and Phoenix, where I talked about writing and shared my passion for this career and the art of storytelling.

I’ve visited with old fans, hugged and laughed with old and new fans, and made so many new friends.  Some of them even looked a little strange.

I’ve watched a miracle as my hubby got a new kidney.  I spent almost a month living out of hotel, so I could be close to the hospital during some later complications.  The good news is that I have him home now and he’s improving and the kidney is working.

I’ve had a year of joy, tears, love, laughter and success.  I could have done without some of hubby’s health issues, but considering things are looking up, I’ll call it a good year.  I hope you, too, have some good times to reflect back on in this year.  I wish this New Year will bring all of us more love, laughter and success and a lot less tears.

Happy new year

I also participated in my cities Veterans Day Parade, History Fair, I’ve made new friends and I’ve done new things. My resolution for next year is to not be afraid to try new things, I don’t want to let fear and doubt hold me back. Like Unbreakable said, ” Never turn your back on a challenge.” I want to be more confident in my abilities. I’m also going to be going to high school in August next year so my resolution for that is to make lots of friends, do lots of things, do good in classes, and have fun. Happy New Years C.C! Hope lots of Great things happen for everybody in 2015!

  6. I’m so glad you had a great year!!

I want to make better choices, and I want to turn in my homework on time and not wait for the last minute to do it, I want my family and myself to have a long and happy life. And I want to be really successful at school so that I can get in a good college and have a successful life! I also want to get closer to my sisters because we are not close and I want to read lots and lotsof books tthis year 😀

    Happy New Year!

  7. C.C.,
I think my biggest goal this upcoming year would be to be recruited for a college volleyball scholarship, hopefully to a D1 school, like Penn State, Stanford, BYU, or even Texas! Believe it or not, I am a freshman in high school, but play on one of the top teams in my age division, in the Midwest. I have personally known players who have gotten scholarships as sophmores, therefore showing me that it’s very possible to be recruited at such a young age. Even if I don’t get recruited this year, or even to a D1 (division 1, meaning the highest division) school, I know I want volleyball to be a big part of my life and I am willing to strive to do my best to make that possible. I hope you have a great new year, and wish you luck with your writing in the up coming year!

    • I hope you get a scholarship! That would be so cool! I’m not good a sports at all so I’m hoping to get a scholarship for orchestra or atleast try-outs for good schools when the time comes. Good Luck

  8. C.C,
My New years resolution is to really make more smarter choices in my life that will be better for my future. I also have started to donate my time and money to charities, I want to start donating for cancer societies to really make a difference. I have already participated in a walk against breast cancer and this year I want to do more of those. I want to be able to get into all of the colleges that I have applied for and hopefully I get accepted into them. One of my goals for the future is to become a writer and I hope that I can become an amazing author like you are!!!! And I would also like to thank you for choosing me to be on your street team, it really means a lot to me to help you promote your books. I hope you have an amazing 2015!!!

  9. My New Years’ resolution would be to spend more time with family because time with them is very precious. Next would have to be to read more books which I didn’t reach my goal on Goodreads this year because I was busy this year. Thanks for the giveaway and I hope you have a great 2015!! 🙂

  10. I’m going to try to find a new job, current one barely pays the bills for me and I’d like to move out of my mom’s house and try to be the “adult” that I past legally am! LOL!

I’d like to publish my book, though I need to do some editing on it! Might be going the self-pub route since querying didn’t get my anywhere. I also need to write more! I became very bad at this the last half of the year or so!

A few blogging/reading goals like reading 150 books, gaining another 294 followers.

And of course meeting more authors! Met you this year, but wouldn’t say no to seeing you again, should the opportunity arises!

  11. I’m so glad that your husband is okay! I hope both of you have a great new year. My new year’s resolution is to start doing volunteer work at as many places as I can. I realized that I take things for granted and helping other people will make me a better person. Wish me luck!

  12. My new years resolution is to not stress out as much. I have the worst anxiety. However it seems to affect others around me. I want a mentally healthy year. Last year I lost 20 lbs from anxiety and stress. It was so irritating hearing people laugh and say they wish they stressed out more. No you don’t. I felt my stress was justified. I made teacher of the year and my students scored higher on their standardized tests than the other students in the surrounding 15 counties. All I got was a pat on the back. I want everything to be perfect but am trying to remember that’s it’s not worth my stress and happiness. Here’s to a healthy, happy, sane new year.

  13. I worried a lot about what people thought of me. I want everything to be perfect but am trying to remember that’s it’s not worth my stress and happiness. Here’s to a healthy, happy, sane new year.

  14. 2014 sure has been a busy and crazy year for me. My New Years Resolution this year is to learn how to share stuff with others more. To learn to open up more. I also want to learn to be a little bit nicer. I’ve been told I’m a pretty mean person. I want to really try and make 2015 a year in which I really make some connections.

  15. 2014 was a very rough year for my family and I. In January 2014, something bad happened which affected me for a couple months. And then in the summer of 2014, my dad left my mom, so he’s hurting the whole family to this day. I plan to have 2015 as a fresh new start and a way better year. I’m moving in the beginning of January 2015 with my mom and my sis which means new house everything. I believe it’s best for us.
    Happy New Year C.C.!

  16. My New Year’s Resolution is to re-invent myself into becoming a better version of myself. I am working towards getting up earlier in the morning, exercising/doing yoga everyday, becoming more studious as well as taking advantage of every opportunity that’s given to me. Looking back, 2014 has been an awesome year, but I believe 2015 is going to be even better!

  17. I haven’t given much thought to my new years resolutions, but I do have a few ideas. I really want to study more for school. I have been doing pretty well this year, but if I’m going to be honest, I haven’t been trying my hardest. It would mean a lot to my parents if my grades were better. I would also like to develop new friendships. I want to find friends that are going to last and won’t flunk out on me no matter what happens. Most of the friends that I have had ended up moving on from me and it’s hard to just go find new friends, in my case anyway. Additionally, I would like to improve my athletic skills. I like to think that I’m an amazing player, but I still have a lot to work on. I’m really going to train harder this year, and hopefully I can get a scholarship by the time I finish high school, because I really want to go to college. Last but not least, I want to make a difference. I’m not sure how haha, but I would like to do it one way or another. Oh, and I forgot to mention: I want to read at least 45 books by the end of 2015 🙂 Happy New Years!

  18. My New Years Resolution is to become more confident in myself. I have a fear of failing so that always gets in my way. I’ve always struggled with being confident, but I really need it this year, as I am in Speech, and that requires standing in front of judges and giving an 8 minute long speech about twins. I’m excited, but still trying to build some confidence! Happy New Year!!!

  19. 2015 is going to be the year of HUGE changes for me and my family! My husband has been in the Army for 10 years and has had 5 deployments. This has taken a big toll on us and our kids. This year we will be transitioning back to civilian life. So, my resolution is to try not to stress myself so much over everything.

  20. My New Years resolution is to learn throughout this following year to be a better person not only for myself, but for the people around me. I want to work my bum off in 1. School, so I can go to collage 2. In my band so we can be in the next 2016 Warpped Tour. I know is a long time from now, but it is hard to get in. Also i want to start reading more for the sake of my literature class, and becasuse I enjoy, and love reading. Everytime I read is like an old Fairy Tale book infront of me just Showing everything that is happening in the book. 2014 has been not great, but good to me I know there is ups and downs, but I put more then hopes, and desires to 2015!!!!!!!

  21. Of course my #1 is getting in a better habit of going to the gym and eating better. A group of 5 of us have joined a new gym and have been going for the last two weeks. Hopefully this really does pan out and we actually stick with it!!! Second, I want to just calm down and stop to smell the roses…or at least hang out with my kids more and just be with them. I get tired of all the “hurry up” activities that we all have. We just need to take more time to be together. My last thing is, of course, reading lots of books and finding some other great authors out there. I tend to stick with my top favorite authors and don’t really try any new books out, so I will work on that this year!

  22. I am going to try and read some classic books and work harder in school. I am also going to try and start a new hobby. Also I want to read all the books you publish in the next year 😉 Your an awesome writer!!

  23. 2015 is gonna be a great year and my resolution is to use Bigger words in sentences in either reports or conversations and to also read more books.

  24. I want to start being more healthy and start working out. I also want to start reading again. I have kinda stopped, since my teacher said I can’t read more fantasy (which is my fave-genre), but I need to read true stuff… But that’s just not what I want to read. I also want to start on my novel about a girl named Tiffanie, who hates this girl Texa. She wants to win the upcomming magicanturnament, buteverything goes terrible wrong! Not that it’s gonna be more interresting than your books! Because I can’t even do cake as good as you (not even with a 12 (we don’t have up to 13 in Denmark, but 12) in english… You are for sure my fave auther!
I also have began to like poems, so I want to go deeper into them, even start writing my own (I already started), since I need a way to descripe how I feel in another way than telling it straight ahead.
Anyway, that was just mine 🙂

  25. My News Resolutions for 2015 is to eat healthier, stop procrastinating, do my best in school, spend time with my family, be more confident in myself, and be the best person I can be.

  26. Happy New year CC! My news years resolution is to do more of what I love to do. Which is writing, art, reading, spending time with my fiancé and people I love. I also plan on getting healthier. I really love your books and can’t wait for more. 🙂 Also I heard you might be doing a series about Miranda? I hope it’s true that would be cool! I have to say you are my favorite writer and I have all your books. I can’t wait for your new series and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a wonderful new year.

  27. I believe one my most important resolutions is to try to get my hair bow and key chain business up and running better and getting more orders coming in. I really hoping it to become an extra source of income to help out my family. 2nd would be to read more books then I did last year.

  28. 1. Get my life in order.
    2. Get my third rough draft for my book started.
    3. And enjoy life.

Hope you had a good new years.

  29. To finally get a new home. Ours is slightly falling apart. I just hope we can find something before the end of the year! To also read more!

  30. Well, the past few years I´ve had a lot of different goals, everything from `Work out more´ to ´at least try and watch less tv´, but this year I think I´ll let my resolution be more undefined yet just as difficult: My New Years Resolution for 2015 is working on creating a happier relationship with myself. I´ll work on loving and accepting myself, to not constantly criticize me, to work on the sides of me I am unhappy with until I feel pleased with myself. To get to that mental state where if I am happy with me, nobody can bring me down.
I know it probably sounds like something straight out of a book, but right now I think that this resolution will be the best for me, and I hope that this time next year I will sit with a sense of self worth and accomplishment!

  31. Happy New Years CC!!!!
I have many resolutions this year, but a big one for me is to keep doing well in school (I had a little slump last year) and DONT PROCRASTINATE!!! I also wish to remain as true to myself as possible, which is a difficult thing to do in High School. In 2014 I read a total of 87 books (Some reread) and would like to make it to 100 this year! These are few of many resolutions, however they are the ones I wish to accomplish the most. Hopefully I don’t forget about them as I do most years!

  32. I’ve kinda given up on setting year long resolution I just give myself a task I wanna perform as long as I can, this year;
I want to read more books,
    stop buying fast food
    And drink more water.

  33. Happy New Year C.C.!!!

My first and most important goal for this year is finally graduating from law school.

In my country you go to school for five and a half years, then you take the BAR and the you make a thesis in order to graduate. I’ve done the BAR and passed it, but my university has rejected two of my thesis already, so I’m hoping that the third time will be the charmed one.

Also I want to keep losing weight, I had my gall bladder removed as an emergency last month and I must follow a strict diet to get better, so I guess I’ll work on that!

    Lots of love!

  34. A New Years Resolution of mine is to actually pay attention in Biology. Honestly, I can doze in that class. At 10 in the morning. Another is to finish my book by the summer. I have high ambitions and I’m not letting everything pull me back. A third is to get a great grade on my finals. Finally, get into a school play. I will work hard and hopefully be able to celebrate with upperclassmen that seem to adore me. Well, the juniors that hang at the board, anyways. Most likely I will snap at my older brother who will be going into his junior year soon and just get over how annoying the men in my family can be.

  35. 2015 has arrived and I am more excited into commiting to my New Year’s Resolutions. I would love to get a job, get a membership to a gym and focus on my fitness, get a tattoo, learn how to cook, get involved in a bible study, focus on my schooling and look into scholarships. I also would love to donate to ASPCA and give back to hurt and abused animals, in which I already did.

  36. My new year’s resolution is to get some of my friends, who never read, to become obsessed with reading as much as I am. In fact, I’ve already started. I recommended my friends the Shadow Falls series, and so far they are loving the fast paced plot and developing characters. Soon I will add more people who swear they dislike reading and turn them into passionate reader’s. And then, only then, will I be able to take over the world. Okay, maybe not the world. So, even though my resolution seems a little impossible, I would settle on turning 10 of my friends into avid readers.

  37. Hello CC. My New Year Resolution is to be a great deal more grateful. 2014 has definitely been a struggle. Between my brother being sick in the hospital from July 3rd to current, and dealing with the loss of my mom (1 year) on Oct. 30 2014, You’re books are my escape, I may be an older reader (34) but I still love reading these books! Like I said, being Grateful, for life, love, and happiness. That’s my resolution. May you and your family have a Happy, and Healthy 2015.

  38. My new years resolution is to try to find myself, t travel to a new place, and lastly go back to school. I ended 2014 completely lost with who I wanted to be, craving adventures, and wishing I had completed my AA already. So I am dedicating 2015 to becoming who it is I want to be. No holding back. I want to travel and find myself. 🙂

  39. I would have to say my New Year resolutions are 1) to exercise more so I’m more fit, 2) try to eat healthier (but that might be challenging…) 3) get good grades so I can get into collage with some finachal aid help, and 4) it just have a good year not to tell anything bother me to much. And if course make time for friends, family, reading, and video games ^_^

  40. My New Years resolution is to work on myself. To stop doubting who I am, and be be proud of myself, to raise up my self confidence and to love myself. I’m turning 20 this year, and I can’t be the scared little girl I’ve always been. I also wanna get a new cat (shhh my mom doesn’t know)

  41. Happy New Year!

For 2015 my New Years resolutions will be to have more confidence in my self in order to achieve any goals and tasks set before me, to learn how to drive and to appreciate and thank people more for all that they do for me. 🙂

  42. My New Years Resolution is to spend more time and ready more with my kids. My son is 4 and my daughter is almost 3 and they both already have my same passion for reading together. I think just being together more with them would make this new year better than last year.

  43. This year I plan to finally complete my career and GRADUATE from college. After that I believe that somebody just maybe “maybe” might propose lol:) but I also plan to eat a lot healthier and finally get the courage to go to a gym and become fitter. I also want to spend this year living one day at a time without worrying about the future, because I tend to over stress my life and not enjoy the present moment by focusing on tomorrow.
But what I want to really accomplish this year is spend as much time with my family as possible, because sadly sometimes we let dumb things get in the way of family togetherness:)

  44. My new years resolutions are mostly for my writing. I want to finish my second draft of my YA Contemporary novel. I just started a new novel because it has been in my head for a while and been bothering me I haven’t brought those characters to life yet! As for my health, I just want to be healthier in general. Not lose weight necessarily but eat healthier and workout more to feel better.
I hope you get all you want in the year 2015!

  45. My New Years resolutions are:

    1. To inspire my friends to read more
    2. To start writing a draft about an idea for a book
    3. Last but not least to keep reading on and be inspired by many of my favorite authors (cc hunter, rick riordan, jk rowling, marissa meyer, & cathryn constable)

Have a happy New Years my fellow Shadow Falls friends 🙂 🙂 🙂

  46. My New Year resolution is to finish my book. I have several that I have started but haven’t had the time and ideas to finish and I’m hoping I can change that this year 🙂

  47. 1) To be a more social person
    2) To stop impuse shopping
    3) To make my girlfriend feel like the luckiest girl in the world, because she’s my world.

If I have to choose just one of these it is definitely number 3.

  48. I have 3 resolutions.

    1)To stop impulse shopping
    2) To be more social
    3) To make my girlfriend feel like the luckiest girl in the world, because she’s my world.

If I have to choose only one thought it is definitely number 3.

  49. My new year goals is to continue working out at the gym to keep my legs up so I can keep walking. As well as working with a trainer to get ready for when I do need my wheel chair. I would also like to read a new book each month this year
