Spring at Shadow Falls

BluebonnetsI know some of you are still shoveling snow in parts of the country. But spring has come to the Texas Hill Country, and that means it has also come to Shadow Falls Camp. And boy, is it ever pretty. Every year about this time, the Texas Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes paint the hillsides with splashes of color.

Falls0So, I can imagine my Shadow Falls campers walking through the fields of wild flowers and swimming at the river–not too close to the falls. Unless they call to you. Then you may not have a choice.  It’s the time of the year that all the campers love. And maybe it was the Hill Country springtime that made me decide to set the Shadow Falls Camp there. I mean, isn’t it beautiful?

And there’s a water fall there, just outside of Austin, which reminds me of what I imagined the falls to look like. You’ll have to tell me if it’s anything like what you have imagined. Doesn’t look that scary though does it?

MidnightHour_Final CVR_revisedI’m excited to tell you that I finally finished writing Miranda’s book, too. And it’s going to be a real doozie! She surprised me in several ways, and I think you’re gonna love her as much as I do. I revealed the cover and title for her book last week. Midnight Hour will be released in the U.S. on October 25, 2016, but is available for pre-order now at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and iBooks.

Bluebonnets1Anyway, happy spring! I hope wherever you live warms up soon and the wildflowers bloom. In Texas, we’re lucky to have them now.

So, have you ever been to the Texas Hill Country? What is it like where you live ?

  1. Oh my! Nothing in NH looks like that! And we had snow a few days laast week and it’s still pretty cool this week but Sunday is supposed to be 70! I wish I could see those places for real!
I can’t wait to read Miranda’s book but it also makes me sad. 🙁 I don’t want to say goodbye. :(( <3

  2. I live in central Texas and it’s pretty nice here. The weather had been a little weird, it’s cold and cloudy one day, and hot and sunny the next. Despite the ever changing weather, there are wildflowers everywhere here. They all look so pretty and the sides of the roads are beautiful. Springtime is definitely my favorite. 🙂 anyway I can’t wait to read Midnight Hour! <3

  3. That all looks incredible. Its much, much better than anything I could have imagined. Where I live, the weather is going back and forth between rain and cold and breezy and warm. I can’t wait for Midnight Hour. It’s a long wait. I don’t know if I can make it.

  4. I’m from Houston TX , but live in Cape Town .I visit my Family in Texas every year or so.So yes i have visited the Texas hill country ,and think its very beautiful. In South Africa its Fall and the leaves are changing beautifully. However, I’m looking forward to cozy winter nights reading my book.

  5. I’m from Canyon Lake, Texas! I just took pictures of my son, Derek and my daughter, Kyleigh in the bluebonnets!!!

  6. I live in the Netherlands. Right now it’s overcast and looks like rain. But you can tell spring is here with the birds and everything coming out of winter. I love spring. Watching everything come back to life. We don’t have a lot of flowers but we have trees.
