Midnight Hour Giveaway!

MidnightHour_Final CVR_revisedWow, I can hardly believe we began this Shadow Falls adventure March 29, 2014 with the publication of Born at Midnight. It all started with Kylie’s story. Then there was Della’s. Now, it’s Miranda’s turn. Three best friends. Three incredible life journeys. I’m best friends with all of them. Perhaps you are too. I have seen them grow, change, mature as their story progressed. Now, it’s drawing to a close. I’ll miss them all, and I will hold them in my heart forever.

11635I came across a song that reminded me a lot of Kylie when I was still writing her series. I think of her every time I hear it. I posted it before, but I think it bears reposting. I also asked you to help me pick a song for Della and you did. I love what you chose. Now. I’m asking you to help me find Miranda’s song. She’s a loyal friend who has grown up a lot since we first met her at Shadow Falls Camp. And in Midnight Hour, she finds a strength she didn’t know she had to meet her foes head on. So, it should be a special song, one that fits both her soft and new found strong side. So, please help me out and post your suggestions below.  I’ll give away a Midnight Hour bag of swag to someone who leave a comment/suggestion. What will Miranda’s song be? (This giveaway is limited to US residents. If you’re reading this on Goodreads, you must leave a comment on my website blog in order to enter my giveaway.)

So, you really need to set a reminder on your phone to return here on Thursday. You won’t want to miss this announcement. I think it will make all you Shadow Falls fans very happy.

  1. Hey,
The song that comes to mind for now is Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”. There will be other songs, but for the moment I feel this relates to her the most. I mean, her power is related to her disability, right? So like the pros and cons within oneself..

  2. I always thought Miranda’s song would be “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato. Miranda always faced obstacles throughout the series but she always found a way around them and proved she was a lot stronger than she or other people realized.

  3. I would have to go with “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. This song is all about persevering through life and showing people that you’re not going to give up. With Miranda’s disability and somehow always managing to mess up on her spells, she had to fight to prove that she is actually a very capable witch. “And I don’t really care if nobody else believes, ’cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me.”

  4. I looked through my though my phone and narrowed down to a couple songs, but only ended up picking two of them. Guts by All Time Low and Airplanes by 5 Seconds of Summer.

I chose Airplanes because the lyrics in the end say that she’s got something to prove, and nothing to lose. and in the song Guts, like Airplanes, in the end, she’s got the guts to say anything, or do anything for the matter.

  5. Perfect by P!NK or The Middle by Jimmy Eat World. Both apply to her in the sense that she is different from most people and that it’s perfectly okay!

  6. I really think that Mirandas song should be “Rise Up” by Andrea Day. The song us about how she stuggled but she still accomplished her goals.

  7. This inspiring song is a tribute to all women who endeavor to support humanity and make this world a better place. We’re not always your obvious heroes, but underneath you’ll find the “S” on the chest as we make this world a better place. I felt this song really connects to Miranda while she deals with her dyslexia and overcomes it because she’s a superwoman. The link is the song on youtube.

  8. Hi i thought you could talkabout the song’the way i used to be’ i am currently writing a similar song as you mentioned for miranda. The song could be about how she has overcome the difficulites in life and how she found good friends in della and kylie and the talents she has discovered and the goals she achieved

  9. I think that “Firework” by Katy Perry would be a great song to represent Miranda. It helps you to think that you make a difference and you’re not just one small part of this huge world. You make a difference by just being you and not trying to conform, just like Miranda. Her disability is what sets her apart from other witches and it means she has to work twice as hard as everyone else, but her hard work to get where she is what makes her unique.

  10. I think Part of Me by Katy Perry would be a good song for Miranda. It shows her determination to never give up. Miranda kept moving forward and accepted her dyslexia as part of her. I can’t wait for Midnight Hour 😀

  11. When I think of a song for Miranda, I always thing about Never Alone by Lady Antebellum. I think of this because Even at Miranda’s lowest, she could always count on Della and Kylie to be there and cheer her up.

  12. When I think of a song for Miranda I always think of Never Alone be Lady Antebellum because even at her lowest she always knew that Della and Kylie would be there to cheer her up

  13. When I think about what Miranda’s song could be, I think of “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato. She encounters problems, but always finds a way to overcome them. She stands strong and does what she believes is right.

  14. “Warrior” by Demi Lavato i think this is a good song describing her because Miranda was given a lot of slack in the first few books and she was awkward and she definitely took all that and used it to make herself strong.

  15. This may be late, but thought I’d post anyway! I like the song “And Run” by He is We for Miranda, but I really think “Courage Is” by The Strange Familiar is perfect. I see her in the lyrics “Take all my pieces of doubt, and let me be what’s underneath. Courage is when you’re afraid, but you keep on moving anyway. Courage is when you’re in pain, but you keep on living anyway” This is something that Miranda and her friends are good at; moving forward and facing their challenges in the end, despite the fear.
