What’s Special About Midnight Hour?

Several interviews have come in and one of the most asked question is:  What do I love about Midnight Hour?

So, I thought I would answer that for all you guys who stop by my blog.

Midnight Hour is special to me for several reasons.

  1. I relate to Miranda so much because like myself, she is dyslexic. I know what it is to hate the word stupid.  When I was young, I heard it a lot from people who thought because I had some learning disabilities I wasn’t intelligent.  I’ve learned it isn’t true.  And I love seeing Miranda come to the conclusion that her dyslexia might result in some hurdles, but it also brings with it some very interesting gifts. For me it’s a imagination and the ability to read people and characters.
  2. I loved adding the male point of view to And in Midnight Hour, you get not only one male point of view, but two. You are going to get to slip inside both Perry and Shawn’s heads.
  3. I love how we see more of Burnett, the super- hot husband of Holiday. Most of you know that Perry lived in the same foster home with Burnett before he aged out. For the first time we really get to see the relationship between these two. I loved showing the softer side of the relationship between two guys who consider each other brothers.
  4. I got great pleasure seeing my amazing trio together again.  Call them the Three Musketeers or Charlie’s Angels, but Kylie, Della and Miranda are so good together.  Those three have the most amazing friendship.  There isn’t anything they won’t do for each other.
  5. Every book in the Shadow Falls series seems to have its own level of nail-biting suspense and a mystery you just can’t wait to solve. Well, something about Miranda’s book seemed to have an extra dose of page-turning drama.   Of course, when you start a book with an explosion, it pretty much tells you the pace isn’t going to slow down.
  6. Midnight Hour is the finale. In this book you see all our Shadow Falls students graduate.  I cried so hard when it came to the end of this book.  These characters feel so real to me.  They are even more than friends, they are my family.  I’m going to miss them, and I know many of you will, too.

  1. I don’t blame you for crying, I probably will too. Kylie is a character I related so much to that I have read her series more times than I care to admit. I can’t imagine these characters really not getting any more stories. However, the books will always be there for me to read and I thank you so much for that C.C. There are so many scenes that stick with me but I think the scene when Kylie is at the chameleon compound and she misses Shadow Falls so intensely is the one I would choose. She was heartbroken over Lucas, yes, but she was also so homesick and I loved that because she had really found a home at Shadow Falls.

  2. NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I don’t want it to be the last book.:'( Shadowfalls changed my life when I first picked up Reborn that was the first time I ever felt close to a character. I can’t believe this. I haven’t even read Spellbinder or Unspoken yet. But you know I’ll just keep re-reading the series no matter what.:'(

  3. I can’t believe this is the last book…

The scene I think about the most comes from Born at Midnight. It’s the one where Kylie and Derek are sitting on the rock and Lucas interrupts them and accuses Derek of messing with Kylie’s emotions using his fae powers. I think I knew then that Lucas really cared about Kylie, that he wasn’t just a bad boy and that his hatred towards Derek was real jealousy and not an act.

Thank you for an amazing series C.C, you’ve made my life me bareable through your books!

  4. One scene that has always stuck with me was when Kylie said that Miranda and Della were her “touchstones”. That made me feel all the feelings because that is exactly how I feel about my best friend. So excited for this book to come out and hoping to make it to Murder By The Book for a signing!!!!!!!

  5. I think back to Whispers at Moonrise where Burnett’s “boys” take a hit by an enchanted paperweight. It was so funny that I actually laughed. I still think back to that scene every now and then.

Can almost imagine him bending over in pain.

  6. I can’t wait for Midnight Hour! Two male P.O.V!!! Ahhh!! The sence that stuck with me the most and still makes me laugh, is when Holiday was in labor and Della didn’t know what to do, but she did a good job delivering the baby and driving them both to the hospital.

  7. I had no idea that ‘Midnight Hour’ would have three different POV’s!! I’m so incredibly excited, but when it comes out and I finish reading, it’ll be very bittersweet. I found this series when Taken at Dusk was about to come out. I have related to Kylie so much through her search for her identity. I still reread these books at least 3 times every year. The scene that still leaves me thinking about is when Kylie sees Lucas marrying Monique and they’re whole confrontation after she flees the ceremony. That was such a pivotal moment with Kylie and Lucas’ relationship.

  8. It makes my cry and feel sad when you finished writing Miranda’s book! I’m going to miss it so much! Basically throughout the whole journey I’ve experience each and every characters emotion, love, and also reaching their goal to become successful! They are like me in Highschool finishing school to become greater out there in life. I’m truly going to miss them. My favorite part was Burnett & Holiday because their love was so cute and adorable! The begininnig of Kylie’s book Burnett was too shy to confess his love to Holiday and he was grumpy all the time lol I wish I had someone who was grumpy but soft in the inside. I was very happy that they both got married and have a daughter. Truly love your books CC Hunter!

  9. I’m so excited for Midnight Hour! So my favorite part of the Shadow Falls series that cannot leave my mind is the scene where Kylie was kidnapped by Mario and she had to communicate with Lucas through her dreams. It was so exciting to anticipate her hero to save the day, but she ended up sorta saving herself too. Everytime I read that scene, it gives me the chills. I love it!

  10. I can’t wait for Midnight Hour! I can’t believe the Shadow Falls series is ending. I wish it could continue for a little longer. The scene I think about all the time is from Unspoken. When Chase returned from Hell’s Pit. He was near death and Della was trying to save him. That scene really stuck with me. I was freaking out and worrying about Chase. I was rooting for him and Della the whole time.

  11. One of the scenes that stood out to me most was when Kylie was standing in the crowd of people when she first got to Shadow Falls and she saw Lucas and was freaking out internally.
Also, I loved the scene when they were trying to convince Kylie that supernaturals were real and so they had Perry shift for her. LOL Love perry

  12. My favorite series that you have ever written is the shadow falls series, Kylie’s story. Funny thing about that series is that my bestfriend and I bonded over the entire series. That’s when our friendship started because she had recommended it to me and we both fell in love with it. Our favorite scene from that series is at the end of chosen at nightfall, the wedding scene. It ties up the whole series. It was a happy ever after without the last words being “and they all lived happily ever after.”

  13. A scene that has always stuck with me is Ellie’s death. Just when you let us start getting attached to her she is ripped from us. Pregnant hormones plus being totally blindsided equals me crying my eyes out.

  14. The scene that stuck with me the most was probably went Lucas brought Kylie Socks and she realized that he did remember her and cared about her. That or when socks sprayed Fredericka, I literally laughed out loud.

  15. The scene that stuck with me the most would be in Della’s series, Reborn, where Della went to the funeral home with Kylie and Miranda to find information on her uncle. That scene showed us girls could kick butts if they need to; they are not some damsels in distress. Miranda save the day when they did not expect it; it shows that she is not the weakest link, but just needed some time (and maybe even a little danger). They showed us what REAL friendship goals are throughout the whole series, and they did not back down when the boys and FRU came. I love re-reading this scene over and over.

I’m sad and most likely will cry while reading this last book. These books are the only books I actually have the physical copy of and even met the amazing author who wrote them. Even though this is series is ending, I can always go back to read all the books and escape from reality for a little while. Thank you for writing this amazing series. I look forward to reading future books you will be writing for us.

  16. The part where Kylie gets kidnapped from these old man and his grandson and she dream accepted with Lucas to save her and she tells him where she thinks she is. He comes and tries to save her.
