Suspense Giveaway!

Give me a little suspense.  A big dose of danger.  Maybe even a murder and I’m glued to the page or the movie screen.

I sometimes feel as if I need to join a support group called ID Anonymous and stand up in a room and admit I’m an ID addict.  You see, I’m addicted to the ID channel.  I can stay up until two in the morning watching Forty-Eight Hours and the Cold Case shows. I love sifting through the evidence and trying to figure out who did it and see how the bad guys are caught.

Suspense has played a part in almost every book I’ve ever written.  All young adult novels, that I write as C.C. Hunter, have suspense. All my Christie Craig books that I write have suspense.  I just started a new series, Texas Justice, it’s an adult thriller and the first book, Don’t Close Your Eyes, is released today.  Now this is not a young adult book, but for my older C.C. Hunter fans, you might want to pick it up. The ebook is on sale for only $2.99.

Yes, you might call me a thrill seeker, an ambulance chaser, but I just like the safe thrills I get while turning pages, or writing pages.

Remember the suspense woven through the Shadow Falls series?  I loved watching Kylie solve the mysteries of the ghosts.  And Della actually worked the crime cases while working for the FRU, the supernatural version of the FBI.  Even Miranda’s story was about catching the bad guys.

There was a crime in This Heart of Mine that was solved. One that put Matt and Leah in danger.  And in The Mortician’s Daughter, there’s a new crime to solve in every book.

Writing that sense of danger, the unearthing of a crime, and outwitting a villain plays a big part in my new young adult thriller, In Another Life, that will release March 26, 2019.  You can even preorder now at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Indie Bound and Powells.

  1. My healthy addiction would definitely be reading. I can’t get enough of it. Books take me to places nothing else ever can. It opens your mind to new experiences, different ways of thinking, new dimensions. Books can be read again and again and you find new things about the book, connect things you didn’t connect the first time, and (hopefully) fall in love with the book all over again. Characters relate to you in ways you never thought another human being could. My goal for this year was to read 100 books and I’m already at 85, so I would say I am definitely addicted. My favorite genre is probably YA.

  2. My healthy addiction is reading. I love to read and get lost is a book if I am having a bad day , or if I’m just really down. It gives me another world to escape to. I know that some may think that is isn’t really heathy, but it beats drugs or alcohol.

  3. Buying/reading books is definitely a (healthy) addiction of mine. I often find myself reading late into the night hours even when I have class the next morning. IMore often than not it’s a YA Fantasy series. Sometimes, I even get addicted to a certain series, and I’ll find myself reading the same series over and over again! I have a feeling once The Mortician’s Daughter series is finished, that will be one of those series. I already have plans to reread One Foot in the Grave closer to the release of Two Feet Under. I can’t wait! I love going to bookstores, and lately I find myself hitting a couple stores every weekend. I also quite enjoy eating Twix. Definitely my favorite candy!

  4. I love writing, reading, and The Simpson’s. If it were possible, I’d do all three at once. I love reading about the paranormal/supernatural such as your “Shadow Falls series” or Lauren Kate’s “Fallen series”, so I tend to write a lot of the same genre. But I do have a funny bone and just love comedy TV shows.

  5. My healthy addiction is definitely my dogs! I can never say no to time with them and they’re always there for me… even if they have to be. I will even cancel plans with friends to stay in and cuddle with my Great Dane, Scooby! I also have 2 other, Hollis and Coopper, who are Chinese Cresteds. So basically I’m addicted to some puppy loving and I can’t get enough !

  6. I’ll definitely say I’m a reading addict for sure! I just LOVE books, but also love the ID Channel, Supernatural, The Dead Files, anything with ghosts or hauntings, and any show hosted by Josh Gates. Plus, it’s rare I say no to chocolate. However reading is my first love whether it’s the fantasy world of Hogwarts, solving mysteries at Shadow Falls, or traveling through history with the Outlander novels. They all feel like home!

  7. For me my healthy addiction is reading. I love feeling like i am part of that world. Its my stress release. I have reread a number of different books. And everytime is like the first time.

  8. oh my bad it was supposed to be a healthy addiction. My healthy addiction would be reading.. I like to hear what other people have to say because it distracts me from my negative thoughts and keeps my mind busy
