  1. Destinee,

And editor had actually approached my agent and asked if I would consider writing a Young Adult paranormal. They gave two words. Paranormal Camp. From there my inspriration for Born at Midnight was really about discovering the characters. I used a lot of my own personal experiences of when I was young. My parents got a divorce, I had a boy break up with me. I lost a someone in my family. From there I just started asking myself the question. What If? What if she’s paranormal and she doesn’t know it? What if know one can tell her what she is. What if there is two guys at the camp that she likes for different reasons and she doesn’t know which is right for her?

As for tips for someone writing a YA supernatural? Get creative. Find other people who also enjoy writing and share each other’s work and try to help each other. Read, read, read. Read some how-to write books. And never ever give up. Writing can be a hard business. It takes passion to determination to make it.

    Good luck.
    CC
