Looking Toward 2012

Well, Christmas has come and gone. And the New Year looms before us. Do any of you make New Year’s resolutions? I have several. I definitely want to find more reading time. I want to get healthier—which includes walking, joining a gym, and eating better. I want to be a little more on top of my deadlines. I could go on, but that’s probably enough goals for the New Year.

You know at Shadow Falls Camp they have what they call quests. Each camper needs to have one, or sometimes two, that they are working on.  Holiday, the camp leader, sort of keeps tabs on these quests with each of the campers. In a way, these quests are goals, and in nutshell, New Year’s resolutions are the same as goals. So, do you have any quests?

As I approach the New Year, I’m working very hard on book four in the series. And yes, we should have the cover and all the other stuff that goes with it really soon. However, what I do have now is the official back cover blurb for Taken at Dusk:

Step into Shadow Falls, a camp for teens with supernatural powers. Here friendship thrives, love takes you by surprise, and our hearts possess the greatest magic of all.

Kylie Galen wants the truth so badly she can taste it. The truth about who her real family is, the truth about which boy she’s meant to be with—and the truth about what her emerging powers mean. But she’s about to discover that some secrets can change your life forever…and not always for the better.

Just when she and Lucas are finally getting close, she learns that his pack has forbidden them from being together. Was it a mistake to pick him over Derek? And it’s not just romance troubling Kylie. An amnesia-stricken ghost is haunting her, delivering the frightful warning, someone lives and someone dies. As Kylie races to unravel the mystery and protect those she loves, she finally unlocks the truth about her supernatural identity, which is far different—and more astonishing—than she ever could have imagined.

  1. Well, you’re not alone with those resolutions. I decided to get a jump on the “exercise” one. I’m three days into using Just Dance 3 as an exercise motivator, and I’m SO FREAKING SORE. Although I have noticed that it’s getting easier…

Someday, I’ll be able to look back on this and say: “That game got me to this point. I’m so excited to be the winner of SYTYCD!!! AHHHH!”

Until then, I’m going to keep with the blogging and reading. Kylie’s newest dilemma sounds chilling! *adds Taken at Dusk to TBR list*

  2. For my new years resolution I have decided to get back on track with my weight loss and lose the last 30 lbs by the summer. I don’t really like to call it a resolution more like a life style change.

As for the blurb, OMG! Amazing!. I hope April comes by in blur so I can finally read it. Thanks for the post and Happy New Year’s!

  3. The next book sounds so good!! I cannot wait until april! I have no idea what her super-natural ability could be. I can’t wait to find out though. I really hope Lucas ignores his clan and stays with Kylie…they are such a cute couple!! Do you know how many books there are going to be in the series yet? I hope there are many more to come!

As for the goal I just want to exercise more to get in shape for upcoming sport seasons, and just to be much healthier. Pretty much the same as your goals 🙂 What books are you trying to find the extra reading time for?
    Happy New Years!!!

  4. OMG!!! April can’t come fast enough!!! I’m waiting for the pre-order link on Amazon like the summer rain!

As for my goals, I hope to finally finish my thesis so I can graduate and then lose at least 30 pounds so my spine injury can stop getting worse.

  5. I’m so with you on getting back into a healthy lifestyle resolution! Last summer I bought a Wii Board and WiiFit+ which were great motivators in keeping me at it over the summer and into the fall. However, kinda fell flat when I became ill and I just let it fall by the wayside. BUT I will get back into it and start my exercise regiment on January 3rd!

Holy schnikies, that blurb just make me chomp at the bit about getting Taken at Dusk as soon as possible! Here’s hoping April gets here soon! Good luck with your New Year’s resolutions, C.C.! 😀
